A Brief History…

Cavalier Federal Credit Union was first chartered in 1973 in the name of U.A.W. Local 1714 Federal Credit Union by a group of ten General Motors autoworkers in Lordstown, Ohio.

In 1999 we applied and received approval from the National Credit Union Administration to become a Community Credit Union serving the Village of Lordstown, Ohio, the City of Newton Falls, Ohio and Newton Township, Ohio.

We remain true to our founding Board of Directors by conducting our business with a “Credit Union Philosophy” in mind.

The Board of Directors would like to thank each and every member for turning to CFCU for your financial needs. By using the Credit Union you strengthen us. When you make a deposit you may be helping another member get a loan to purchase a new car. By borrowing at the Credit Union for his new car, this member has helped us pay you a higher dividend on your deposit. That is what CFCU is all about, people helping people, not for profit but for service.
